Copper Mountain Website

Copper Mountain Resort’s 2,433 skiable acres include easy groomers, smaller mogul runs, bowl and tree skiing, steep chutes, big bump runs and terrain parks.

Throughout the year, Copper’s main village — filled with short-term rental condos, hotels, shops, ski rentals, restaurants and bars — ignites with events, concerts and performers. You won’t find the need to drive to a nearby town as everything you could need is all in one place.

Copper Mountain is known for its naturally divided terrain, which separates beginners from experts — making everyone feel more comfortable on the mountain.

Union Creek, located at the farthest end of Copper’s entrance, provides a lodge, ski school base and beginner terrain, which makes up 21% of the mountain. There’s also a little known beginner area at R-lift, which sits high on the mountain.

The majority of skiers and riders head to the Flyer and American Eagle lifts, located in Copper’s main village, in the middle of the resort. These lifts ascend to mostly intermediate runs and offer access to higher lifts with more advanced terrain.

Advanced bump runs of off Sierra, or S-chair, (accessible by the Flyer) and steep bowls (accessible by a Poma lift) sit above this terrain. Since 54% of the mountain caters to advanced skiers and riders, there are also plenty of bump runs tucked away off of Resolution and SuperBee lifts. In fact, many people simply start at the SuperBee, which is the closest base lift to the free, shuttle-served parking lot. Both intermediates and advanced riders can make their way down from SuperBee, and the lines are sometimes shorter.

The back bowl of Copper offers open, ungroomed terrain, but its southern exposure can make it a little clumpy after late-spring snowstorms. Otherwise, it’s a great place to make turns. And, the best part of the bowl is the free snowcat that takes skiers and riders to Tucker Mountain, where they can hike for 15-20 minutes and ski steep chutes.

Kidz Terrain Park cranks it down a notch for jibbers and jumpers to learn without high risk, before graduating to the bigger park, with its 18-foot quarter pipe and giant tabletops. Woodward at Copper is also an interesting feature; it’s the only indoor ski and snowboard training facility with foam pits, trampolines and jumps to help campers learn tricks off the snow.

Copper has a few cool tricks up its sleeve to lure guests, including free tips from ski instructors and Beeline Advantage lift tickets, which allow people to start their day 15 minutes earlier than regular ticket holders and permit them to bypass lift lines all day.
