Although I don’t think folks come to Telluride just for the dining, we definitely have a few standouts you shouldn’t miss while you’re in town. For high-end steak-house dinners I think the New Sheridan Chophouse is the spot. Right in the center of town on Main Street, the restaurant just underwent a huge renovation and the space is truly beautiful and charming. They also serve a great breakfast/brunch in the . The New Sheridan Parlor Bar is in the lobby of the New Sheridan Hotel and is an awesome spot for dessert and a drink. Love the profiteroles!
Another steakhouse not to miss spot is Allreds Restaurant. It’s a really special place as it is half way up the gondola (10,551 feet above sea level to be exact). The view of town at night is incredible (make sure to request a table by the window if you can). The bar is also perfect for a martini and appetizer, and often has live music (check their website for a schedule). When you order don’t forget to add some of the a la carte sides as they are to die for.

Honga’s Lotus Petal is also on Main Street and has Asian fusion flair. It actually has terrific sushi, which sounds surprising in land-locked Telluride, but they fly the fish in fresh and it’s delicious. They also have a new chef this year with a modified menu that truly offers a unique array. The mojitos are great and the pomegranate mojitos are even better. My top picks here would be the the “Kant Makm” roll and the blackened tofu.
La Marmotte is located on Pacific Street down by the Gondola. It has a great local vibe, and French food that is really tasty and not to heavy. I think the coq au vin is amazing, and don’t leave without finishing with the molten chocolate cake. They have also started serving lunch on the patio with live music on the weekends.
