Micro-Brews and Live Music in Steamboat

January 19, 2010

Mahogany Ridge at 435 Lincoln Ave. downtown is the place to go for post-mountain micro-brews. It offers seven beers ($4 a piece) made by local brewmaster Charlie Noble, housed in 330-gallon vats behind the bar. While six of the beers rotate, the favorite always on hand is Alpenglow, a medium-bodied ale guaranteed to replenish lost carbs. “It’s been our most popular one for years,” says manager Jake Owens. Complement it with a dipping menu offering 15 sauces for meats and vegetables, and settle in for live music on the weekends.

Hit Happy Hour from 4 – 6 p.m. daily ($2 drafts, $1 tapas), or the evening equivalent from 9 – 11 p.m., offering half-price appetizers and other drink discounts.
