Wendy Jacobs Hampton
Wendy came from a ski family that was fortunate enough to stumble upon Telluride in 1982. They bought a condo in town site unseen and have been in Telluride ever since. Although Wendy grew up in New York all of her life’s decisions were based around skiing and it was a no-brainer to move to Telluride a few days after graduating from the University of Denver in 1994. After a short stint as a ski instructor, Wendy traveled as an Outdoor Educator for many years always using Telluride as her home base. Wendy then settled at the local Outdoor Education organization the Telluride Academy. It was at the Academy where she moved up the ranks as the program director and found herself running many of the fundraising events. In 2000, Wendy took a leap of faith and bought a fledgling event-planning company Soiree Telluride (www.telluridesoiree.com). Wendy has been planning parties, weddings and events ever since and has turned Soiree into the largest event planning company in Telluride. Wendy met her husband Zach, a local architect in 2001 and they were married in 2005. They have since designed and built a beautiful home outside of Telluride, and are constantly on the move chasing their two daughters; Breton and Zoe. Breton who is now 31/2 started skiing at 18months while still in diapers and Zoe who is 11/2 will start skiing this winter.
